The Drumcorn Aberdeen Angus herd was established in 1992 when the foundation female, Elcara of Drumlister, was received as a wedding gift from Ann's parents.

The herd prefix Drumcorn (meaning 'the hill of corn') was selected to represent the Drumlister AA herd of Ann's parents and the Cornagrally Holstein herd of John's family.

Initially the herd was accommodated alongside the Drumlister herd at Seaforde however growth in numbers led to the move, on 31st October 1998, to a rented farm at Maghaberry. Subsequently the herd was moved to its present location near Moira in 2007.

The herd now comprises ten breeding females and in order to simplify management is split with the show team and main herd managed separately - female replacements are a key element of the show team with the main herd comprising cows and calves.

Our aim is to develop a top class herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle, that combines commercial efficiency, show ring reality and genetic superiority, using the best global genetics to suit local conditions.
